FLIPPING THE SCRIPT ON A 30-YEAR-OLD PIZZA CHAIN

Flippers Pizzeria is a 30 year old restaurant chain with 15 locations throughout Central, FL that prides itself on providing the best pizza using time honored traditions and nothing but high-quality and the freshest ingredients. After recognizing the need, Flippers partnered with 321 to breathe new life into the brand.

Working with Flippers Pizzeria we re-imagined their entire brand identity, including a revitalized brand strategy and complementing visual system. It was imperative to accurately shift the brand perception from standard pizzeria to a restaurant is anything but that. Flippers believes that you should never have to compromise quality when satisfying your passion for pizza and that became the motivating factor in our refreshed strategy.

The Concept

Pizza. Passion. Perfection.

After building the new messaging framework, we needed a fresh look to complement. We took Flippers’ sterile and standard pizzeria aesthetic and revitalized it by adding an entire new visual aspect to the brand. We subtly moved to a visual system with more of an emotional connection to a higher quality product. The culmination of the elements created a new and fresh look that has now influenced the interior design of Flippers’ recently opened Oviedo location and will carry over to all new locations.

Brand ECOSYSTEM

With Flippers we created a holistic brand system that connected everything from their messaging, to new menus, to pizza boxes, to in-store displays and everything and anything online. Furthermore, this revitized system had both operational and cultural impact that provided continuity across all restaurants and only served to strengthen Flippers’ unparalleled brand promise.

With the goal to increase brand awareness and online sales, 321 used a combination of careful audience segmentation. This included lookalike audiences of past and existing customers, website custom audiences for retargeting and location-based custom audiences. Backed by the revamped brand, we strongly presented Flippers’ quality and value proposition across all touchpoints.

Ordering pizza should be an easy process. We completely revamped Flippers’ website to create a much more fluid user experience that removed obstacles and made the buying decision simple.

As the strategic partner for Florida’s Space Coast Office of Tourism, 321 recognized the opportunity to promote the area’s diverse offerings and remind travelers that it’s a place you go when you want to unwind, relax, have fun and reconnect. We partnered with the Visit Space Coast team to develop an ongoing traditional and digital marketing campaign that connected the dots across multiple touchpoints and ultimately gave personality to the brand.
