Just bringing up the topic of our favorite restaurants in Orlando sparked an all out debate in the office over the best Thai, brunch, sushi, and burgers. Needless to say, we love to eat and after much deliberation we’ve narrowed it down to 15 spots you just need to try (in no particular order). So put those New Years diet resolutions on the back burner and dive into the city’s finest bites, brews, and culinary treats.
Located on Mills 50, this is some of the best asian street fare in town with an urban flare. We suggest the Tom Yum soup, Banh Mi Sliders, or just anything with duck.
2. HAMMERED LAMB
We live for brunch and this is just the spot. Great drink deals, the best Bloody Mary bar I’ve ever seen, and a fun and relaxing environment make for a great weekend spot. Whatever you do you have to get the grilled cheese.
3. BLACK BEAN DELI
A cuban cafe on crack, I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. For all you cuban sub connoisseurs out there, this is the place. They also have all those little Hispanic treats you know and love like empanadas, guava pastelitos, and amazing fried green plantains.
I die for Prato pizza, particularly the Widowmaker. Other great things: The meatballs on a bed of polenta paired with a Cetriolo cocktail.
5. EDEN’S FRESH CO.
Eatin’ at Edens is a personal “flavorite.” Their fresh variety of ingredients have customers mixing up their toppings like DJ Greens on the ones and twos. *Top-notch-tip: If you feel like dressing your salad up for a night out, have your salad artist mix up some honey mustard and olive oil dressing. Bon apetit!
6. TAKO CHEENA
Another Mills 50 classic, Tako Cheena takes a spin at asian street fare with a spanish kick and the feeling that you’re eating a food truck culinary treat. The tacos are good but the burritos are better. (PS. Friday and Saturday they’re open till 4am. Great drunk food).
A sportsbar where the food may beat out the drinks. The best sandwich: Bacon, grilled chicken, egg, and a specialty honey mustard that will change your idea of bar food forever.
Located in the heart of Downtown Orlando, Bento has phenomenal sushi and classic bento boxes. It’s the best place to grab a bite before a night out and the White Peach Sake will knock your socks off.
9. SMASH BURGER
It never fails. Their burgers are delicious and their chicken is amazing, but what really makes the meal come together is the sides. Hands down, best sweet potato fries you’ll ever have.
10. HUMMUS HOUSE
New to Winter Park, Hummus House is like Pita Pit but better and makes a great lunch spot when you’re on the run. Choose between a rice bowl, salad, or pita. The variety of hummus flavors tie it all together perfectly.
11. PRS TACO PALACE
Don’t be intimidated by it’s appearance. The run down dive “palace” has been around for almost 30 years and is a Winter Park staple that you can’t live without. It’s great more-so for the atmosphere than the food. The drink specials on Mondays and Tuesdays are on point too.
12. EDDIE V’S
Perfect for special occasions, private events, or hot dates, this upscale seafood restaurant is the best in the area. It’s also where we held our annual Christmas party! Did we mention the desserts are fire…no literally.
13. 903 MILLS MARKET
Ah, let’s talk about brunch again. 903 Mills Market is a quaint little spot to relax outside and soothe your hangover. Mimosas by the pitcher get me every time as well as the killer Monster Bagel, all at very reasonable prices. It’s easy like Sunday morning.
14. SEITO SUSHI
Seito is the kingpin of Orlando sushi that always leaves you satisfied. Located in the heart of Baldwin Park (and also on Sand Lake Road), the ambiance alone makes it a great weekend spot, whether you’re sitting outside or chilling on the indoor lounges.
